Grammar Practice That Students Actually Do — Because the Content Is Worth Reading.

The St. Patrick's Day theme is not decoration. It is why students engage. When grammar sentences are about leprechauns, parades, and shamrocks instead of generic subjects, middle schoolers pay attention and stay in the task. Six worksheets means six different skills — each structured in four short parts so students get a fresh start every few questions instead of losing momentum on a long single-format assignment.

📄

Six skills. Six worksheets. One complete packet.

Every major 6th grade grammar convention is covered — subject-verb agreement, compound sentences, commas, possessives and contractions, verb tenses, and adjectives and adverbs. Use the full packet as a March grammar unit or pull individual worksheets for targeted skill practice.

✏️

Writing practice built into every page

Each worksheet ends with a Part 4 writing section — students write original sentences applying the skill they just practiced. Grammar practice that stops at identification does not transfer to writing. This one goes the extra step.

🗝️

Complete answer keys — every section

Full answer keys are included for all six worksheets — organized by section so teachers, substitutes, and homeschool parents can evaluate work quickly. No hunting through a document looking for which answer goes where.

💜

ADHD-friendly structure throughout

Each worksheet is divided into four short parts with clear directions and a fresh task type at each section. The short-part structure keeps students moving instead of stalling — which is exactly what reluctant and ADHD learners need from a grammar practice page.

Every Major 6th Grade Grammar Convention. One Packet.

Each worksheet covers a distinct grammar skill in four structured parts — building from identification to application to original writing. All sentences and writing prompts use St. Patrick's Day content.

Before You Buy

Can I use individual worksheets separately, or do they need to be used together?
Every worksheet works completely independently. Each covers a separate grammar skill with its own directions, its own answer key, and no dependency on the others. Use the full packet as a March grammar unit, one worksheet per week as spiral review, or pull individual worksheets for targeted skill practice whenever you need them.
Is this appropriate for 5th or 7th grade?
The skills are pitched at 6th grade grammar conventions. The subject-verb agreement worksheet includes some advanced cases — neither/nor, collective nouns — that are more appropriate for 6th grade and up. The comma, possessives, and contractions worksheets work well for strong 5th graders. The full packet is a solid review resource for 7th grade students who need to revisit foundational conventions.
Is this suitable for use as sub plans?
Yes — and this was intentional. Students can work through any or all of the six worksheets independently. The directions on each page are clear enough that no teacher introduction is required. The complete answer keys mean the substitute can handle the work, or you can review it when you return.
Does the writing section have an answer key?
The writing sections — Part 4 on each worksheet — ask students to write their own original sentences, which means there is no single correct answer to key. The answer keys cover Parts 1 through 3 of every worksheet completely. For the writing sections, the skill instructions and the preceding practice provide the framework for evaluating student responses.

L.6.1 and L.6.2. Every Sub-Standard. All Six Worksheets.

Every skill in this packet connects directly to a specific 6th grade language standard. Nothing is filler. The six worksheets together cover the full scope of L.6.1 and L.6.2 conventions expected at 6th grade.

L.6.1a
Ensure subject-verb agreement — directly covered in Worksheet 1 including tricky cases
L.6.1b–c
Shifts in verb tense and use of irregular verbs — covered in Worksheet 5
L.6.1d–e
Recognize and correct inappropriate shifts; use correct pronoun case — covered in Worksheets 4 and 5
L.6.2a
Use punctuation including commas — directly covered in Worksheet 3 across four comma rules
L.6.2b–c
Spell correctly; use reference materials — supported by possessives, contractions, and homophones in Worksheet 4
L.6.3a
Vary sentence patterns for meaning and style — supported by compound sentence writing in Worksheet 2
